Donation Goals of Laptops

Technology unlocks potential—and we’re committed to bridging the digital divide.

Current Donation Goal: 1,000 Laptops for Students

Harmony Trust is working to provide 1,000 laptops to junior high and high school students who lack access to the tools they need to succeed academically. These laptops will go to students in underserved communities in the United States and Panama, helping them keep up with academic demands, online learning, and digital literacy.

🎯 Why It Matters

Access to a laptop can change a student’s future. For many low-income families, a personal computer is a luxury they simply cannot afford. Without it, students fall behind in basic computer literacy, homework, online research, digital presentations, and even standardized testing.

Providing laptops means:
– Equal access to online learning platforms and educational software
– Ability to complete assignments on time and with greater quality
– Exposure to technology that will be essential in higher education and the workforce
– Improved research, writing, and presentation skills
– Increased engagement in learning through multimedia and interactive content
– Empowerment to learn coding, design, data analysis, and other digital skills

🛡️ Accountability & Oversight

– Schools will monitor laptop use and ensure they are used appropriately.
– Any reports of loss, theft, or misuse will be investigated thoroughly.
– Students and parents will sign usage agreements, reinforcing responsibility and care.
– Harmony Trust will work with school administrators to provide technical support and track each device.

💰 Project Overview

Each laptop costs approximately $400.
We aim to raise $400,000 to provide 1,000 laptops to students in need.
Additional costs may apply for specialized academic software.

Laptops will be loaned to students and returned to Harmony Trust upon graduation or if the student leaves school.

📍Our Target Communities

Laptops will be distributed to students in schools that demonstrate significant economic need, including:
– Title I schools in urban and rural communities in the U.S.
– Public schools in Panama City, Colón, and underserved rural regions
– Students identified by teachers and social workers as academically promising but under-resourced

📅 Timeline

– Fall 2025: Fundraising and procurement
– Winter 2025–Spring 2026: Distribution to qualified students
– Ongoing: Software installation, usage monitoring, and support
